Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ahhh where do I begin?!

I LOVED THIS. Like SO much! I was expecting to enjoy this novel as it’s obviously a highly renowned classic but I didn’t expect to enjoy it to the extent that I have.

Since reading this at the beginning of last month I have watched the entire 1995 BBC mini series and the 2005 movie adaptation with Keira Knightley and thoroughly enjoyed both! I plan on reading Sense and Sensibility very soon!

Pride and Prejudice follows the lives of the five Bennet sisters on their pursuit of love and the assortment of crazy events that happen to them as they are growing up. The pace of this novel is fantastic, I constantly wanted to carry on reading to hear what absurd things will happen next! I fell in love with these characters and really enjoyed watching them come to life in the BBC mini series and movie adaptation!

What I loved most about this novel was the writing style, you can tell that Jane Austen was massively ahead of her time purely from the way this novel reads. The characters in this book are simply hilarious, I absolutely loved the sarcastic whit of Mr Bennet and thought Mrs Bennet was written to perfection! This book had me laughing on numerous occasions and a few tears of joy came out by the end!

A fantastic read and I would highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t read Austen or classics before as this would be a great starter novel! This book has shot into first spot on my list of favourite classics and I can’t wait to read more from Austen. Five out of five stars!
