Good morning my lovely bookish friends! Today I am going to share with you a few of the books I have bought recently. I made a video on my YouTube with around 14 books in it but today we shall just look at a few:
From top left to bottom right:
1. Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng –
I have had this one on my wishlist for such a long time and I have heard so many good things about it that I figured it was about time I got it on my shelves! I think I’m going to try and fit this one in with my February reads.
2. An Atlas of Tolkien by David Day –
Another addition to my ever-growing Tolkien collection. Back in December I bought the Dictionary of Tolkien which is in a similar design to this one. The cover is made of a faux leather material which feels lovely and looks great on the shelf!
3. Cherry Pie by Holly Cherry –
I heard about this one through Anna James (acaseforbooks on YouTube) – she made a wonderfully visual video for her top books of 2015 and this was one of them! I’m not a big reader of poetry but this one sounded great, alongside the poems are some beautiful illustrations which really catch the eye!
4. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr –
This is another one that I had on my wishlist for a long time. I have seen this one in so many favourite videos that I couldn’t resist picking it up any longer. I found it in a local supermarket for £3.99 which was a real bonus!
5. Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller –
I picked this one up on the recommendation of Jen Campbell as I had seen her speak highly of it on her channel. I have actually read this one already and thought it was a great read. I would recommend to all and gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
6. Nimona by Noelle Stevenson –
What a wonderful graphic novel! I have also read this one and thought it was fantastic, I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. The art style was really up my street and I thought the story was so quaint and heart-warming – I would highly recommend to all!
7. Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton –
This one was sent over from Faber and Faber and it was published yesterday! They contacted me regarding this novel and asked if I would like to review it. It was a book I had heard about at the Young Adult Literature Convention last year so I was more than happy to receive a copy!
8. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys –
This was an unsolicited copy from Penguin Random House. After reading up on the novel and hearing a lot about it from fellow readers this is actually one I am really looking forward to! It has been likened to The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and The Book Thief so I think it’s going to be a good one.
So there we are! What books have you been buying recently? If you’ve read any of these I would love to know what you thought of them 🙂
If you would like to see the other books I showed in my haul I shall leave a link below:
Thanks for reading 🙂
