Can’t wait for book number three, this is one of the most original young adult trilogies I have read in a long time!
– This is the second in the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children trilogy and I loved it! The story picks up exactly where book one left off so I was immediately sucked back into the creepy and exciting world of the Peculiar Children. The children are on a mission to save Miss Peregrine before she is lost to the world forever and this takes them across the country and into London. Along the way they escape into different time loops and meet an assortment of interesting characters. All the while they are discovering more about themselves and working more as a group, each of their mystical abilities adding to strength to the success of their mission.
– The new characters that are introduced along the way were brilliant – a great addition to the novel as a whole. I feel we really got to learn a lot more about the Peculiar Children and I could definitely see their characters growing as the novel went on. I enjoyed how the relationships between the characters also built up and evolved as the group went through more experiences together – truly brilliant!
– The thing that really makes this trilogy great (for me) is Riggs’ use of vintage photographs that he has salvaged over many years. The images are incorporated into the story and do an amazing job of depicting the eeriness of the whole novel. From creepy shots of children to bleak landscapes, Riggs has woven the story in and around these images and as a photography lover I think it’s awesome!
– I would highly recommend this novel to anyone who has read the first and if you haven’t read them at all you should definitely begin this series 🙂

I read this last week! I read book 1 in October & waited for the paperback to come out (because I’m a stickler for my series matching in binding!) I’m so glad I discovered this series because it’s just SO good! I’d never have even discovered it if it wasn’t for me stumbling upon booktube…
For me, it was a little lacking compared to the first one, at least initially. But damn, the last 50-100 pages made it worthwhile!
It is a brilliant series so far! Looking forward to seeing where Riggs goes with the third book! 🙂
